Open Events 2024/25

Would you like to find out more about the ILESLA Programme and how you could be paid to carry out a PhD at Oxford University, Oxford Brookes or the Open University?

A Virtual Open Day event was held on 13th December from 12pm to 3.30pm. A follow-up evening Q&A event will be offered on 7th January from 7-8pm.

We are holding two information events for those interested in applying to the ILESLA.

The first was a Virtual Open Day on Friday 13th December from 12pm to 3.30pm (UK time) to explain more about the programme itself and provide some advice on the application process. There were representatives from all three of the admitting institutions who hosted breakout sessions for people who have an interest in applying to them, as well as from the three hosting partners who do not admit directly, Pirbright, ISIS and Diamond.  There was the chance to talk to current students who can to share the student experience from their perspective, and talk about about life in Oxford. We recorded the main ;presentations and are putting some FAQ documents together, so that people who could not attend can still get the information.  Please see the "Open Event Recordings" .

There are a number of UKRI-funded PhD programmes in related areas.  This slideshow gives information about many of them.

We appreciate that not everyone is able to attend a daytime event because of other commitments.  The main sessions in this event will therefore be recorded and available to view for the remainder of the application cycle.

A follow up evening Q&A event on 7th January 7-8pm  will be offered for those who could not attend the daytime session.  Do please watch the recorded Open Event sessions before attending this Q&A as it is not intended to replicate that event, but just to offer the opportunity to ask questions.
